We entered the real estate arena after extended careers in other fields, I am retired from the U.S. Postal service and Sheila previously worked in cancer treatment. Long before we said good bye to those jobs, we were “dabbling” in real estate on the side as they say and learning much about the business. During that period, we were buying foreclosures, flipping properties, engaging in complete remodels of our project houses, and even building our own “dream home.” I decided to apply the knowledge gained from that 10-year experience toward securing my real estate sales license in early 2012. In the minimum time required, I secured my Broker’s license and determined with Sheila, who in the meantime had decided to acquire her Realtor’s license, to open our own brokerage in the summer of 2014. So was the birth of Barkley Lake Homes Realty in Cadiz, Ky. near Kentucky and Barkley lakes and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. We are very proud that David Stagner, Realtor joined us in 2016 and is a vital part of our team and business.

We are both from the area, I grew up on a local farm and Sheila grew up spending time with her family on the local lakes. We are blessed to have 4 grown children, their spouses and 11 grandchildren which we enjoy exploring the lake area with. I enjoy golfing on the local courses and Sheila enjoys the grandkids and travel.
